WHAT IS A NOUN?
A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing, and abstract idea. Everything is represented by a word that lets us talk about it.
Proper Nouns
You always write a proper noun with a capital letter, since the noun represents the name of a specific person, place, or thing. The names of days of the week, months, historical documents, institutions, organisations, religions.
Examples:
I met Charles at the hospital.
Jack is my boyfriend.
China is the biggest source of tourists.
People speak English as a second language.
She comes from Colombia.

Common Nouns
A common noun is a noun refering to a person, place, o thing in a general sense, usually you write it with a capital letter only when it begins a sentence.
The pig ran away fast.
The two girls liked to eat ice-cream.
My cat is big and fluffy and white.
Be safe and do not play with matches.
The class is going to be amazing.
A newborn baby cries a lot.
My sister is older that I am.
Concrete Nouns
A concrete noun is a noun which names anything ( or anyone that you can perceive through your physical senses: touch, sight, taste, hearing, or smell.
An inventor has a good imagination.
The boy wants to know about his future.
Her memories of Asia were fading.
The window is opened.
The car is red.
Paola is sleeping.
Abstract Nouns
An abstract noun is a noun which names anything which you can not perceive through your five physical senses, you can not see, hear, touch, smell or taste, such as an idea or a feeling.
The election was hel in the auditorium.
Wild animals in captivity often seem sad.
The artist thougt about her plan.
The average of his tests was not satisfactory.
The education is very important.
Give those birds their freedom!
Collective Nouns
A collective noun is a noun naming a group of things, animals, or persons. You could count the individual members of the group, but usually think of the group as a whole is generally as one unit.
The jury took a long time to reach a verdict.
The army was on the marck for several days.
The band played five numbers.
